Our oldest cat recently turned 11, and I realized we'd done a pretty good job keeping up with brushing, nail trims and grooming... but had almost completely ignored dental care. I was honestly intimidated because I thought brushing a cat's teeth would be impossible. The first few sessions mostly involved letting her sniff the toothbrush, taste the toothpaste and get comfortable with everything. We took it very slowly. A few weeks later she's letting me brush for a minute or two without much fuss. The biggest lesson for me was that consistency matters more than trying to do a perfect job the first time.
I always assumed dental treats were enough, so I never really thought about brushing my cat's teeth. Then my vet mentioned that treats help, but they don't actually replace brushing. That sent me down a rabbit hole of researching cat dental care. I tried a regular pet toothbrush first, and my Ragdoll absolutely hated it. The 360 toothbrush has been a completely different experience. The soft silicone doesn't seem nearly as annoying to her, and because it brushes from all sides, I feel like I can finish much faster before she decides she's done cooperating. She's still not thrilled about having her teeth brushed, but she tolerates it far better than I expected.

This definitely wasn't a magic fix for brushing my cat's teeth. It still took patience, lots of treats, and plenty of practice. What I do like is that the soft silicone seems much less intimidating, so at least she gives me a chance before trying to escape.
